Waking up your metabolism is key to any quick weight loss diet. For those that are not sure what metabolism is, it’s basically the engine inside your body. When you consume food, your metabolism either burns that energy, or stores it as fat for future use, and turns what it can’t use into a waste product.

On a quick weight loss diet, such as the Fat Burning Furnace, increasing your metabolism so that the body is burning more energy than you are consuming is key to their diet plan. This burns the fat in your body. And, they have their own special way of doing that.

3. Eat apples, apricots,berries, and other fruits that are high in a protein called pectin. Pectin reduces the amount of fat that your cells can absorb. Once in the body, pectin causes cell walls to absorb water which releases fatty tissue. This increases your metabolism. Pectin also helps to reduce cholesterol levels.

4. Consume a lot of garlic. Garlic may help to keep vampires away, but it most definitely helps the body from storing fatty deposits. Garlic is also a natural antibiotic, destroys bacteria, and helps to cure many ailments.

Many people want to know how to lose weight fast, but thy don’t take the time to truly learn how to do it. And, that’s somewhat understandable. There is so much “garbage” written about fast weight loss, how do you know what to believe.

There are two answers on how to lose weight fast. The first one involves your metabolism versus calorie intake. Simply put, to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you intake. Either you have to starve yourself, or you have to eat a lean, well balanced diet.

There are two problems with this. Number one, nobody likes a starvation diet and figuring out and maintaining a lean, well balance diet can be time consuming and difficult to do. And, number two, to lose weight fast you have to speed up your metabolism. That usually means a lot of exercise. Very few people will do this.

Is there any other way to speed up your metabolism? The answer is, “Yes”! The human body produces hormones for storing fat and another hormone for burning fat. If you decrease the fat storage hormones and increase the fat burning hormones, you can lose weight fast with minimal exercise. The secret to these hormones is in the what, when, and how you eat. The second answer on how to lose weight fast involves your intestines and bowels. ALL humans have parasites in their intestines and bowels. These parasites normally assist your digestion process. But, sometimes, just like you can catch the “flu bug”, you can get certain types of parasites in your system that are not good for you. These harmful parasites will plug up and bloat your system. If you are thinking about starting a quick weight loss diet, consider these tactics before you begin:

1. Be sure that the diet plan you choose has food selections that you’ll enjoy. You won’t stick to a diet plan if you don’t like the food.

2. To lose a pound of body weight, you have to lose 3,500 calories. That means, you either have to intake fewer calories or burn more.

3. Your metabolism burns your calories. You can speed up your metabolism by either exercising or shifting your diet patterns so that the body naturally burns more.

4. Three solid meals per day is not the way to lose weight. Women should eat five meals per day and men six. Frequent eating increases your metabolism (we just discussed this), increases your energy, reduces hunger and food cravings, provides a steadier blood sugar and insulin level, increases absorption and utilization of nutrients, and reduces storage of body fat. Get away from three meals per day.

5. Yo-Yo dieting is going on and off of a diet again and again. This usually leads to an overall weight increase. If your going on a quick weight loss diet, ask yourself how long can you do it. If you can’t stay on it long enough to achieve your goals, select a different diet plan.

6. Select a desired weight that is healthy for you. Our bodies change over time. You probably never will fit into that bikini that you wore 10 years ago. Be realistic.

7. Keep your motivation up. Remind yourself that being overweight leads to diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Being overweight is not healthy.

8. It’s usually easier to stay on a diet if you have a spouse or friend to do it with. In fact, it’s even better if you have three or four friends to do it with. Each of you will be able to provide each other support.

Losing weight is not easy. It takes determination. Any diet is difficult, so consider these tactics before you choose a quick weight loss diet that is right for you.

Fast food chain Taco Bell is following suit with Subway to market their fat loss secret. Taco Bell’s new spokesperson, Christine Dougherty, claims she lost 54 pounds by ordering off of Taco Bell’s new “Fresco” menu five-to-eight times per week. If you haven’t seen the commercial on TV, watch this video:

These claims are similar to the one’s made by Subway’s spokesperson, Jared Fogle. In 2000, he claimed he had lost 245 pounds by making healthy choices at Subway. I think we all found that hard to believe, but it has never been disproved.

Taco Bell’s Fresco menu, or Drive-Thru Diet menu, consists of 7 tacos and/or burritos that range in 150-340 calories per serving and under 9 grams of fat. That’s certainly better than their 700 calorie Beef Grilled Stuffed Burrito. But, be advised, fresco in Spanish means “no sour cream”.

The big fat loss secret to Christine’s story, although untold, is that she reduced her calorie intake to just 1250 calories per day. Anybody will lose weight in the long run if they reduce their calorie intake to this level. So, after two years, it’s not surprising that she lost 54 pounds.

What will be interesting to see is what effect this campaign will have on Taco Bell’s sales. When Subway first promoted their weight loss program, their sales increased by 700% during that first year of their campaign. How much do you think Taco Bell’s will increase by?

The best thing about this story is that it does indicate a change in what fast food chains are offering on their menus. While not totally healthy, it’s certainly better than what most of them have been offering up to this point.

Taco Bell’s Drive-Thru Menu now offers food selections with less calories, but it’s not a quick weight loss diet menu. The problem with diets that just rely upon less calorie intake is that they take too long. It took Christine two years to lose 54 pounds. Two long years!
