I’m only 15 years old and I want to lose 20 lbs safely by doing cardio exercises at the gym. How long and at what intensity level should I do it. And also how long should it take if I’m 210 lbs now and I am going for 190 lbs.

Eating healthy and excersing go hand in hand. On a diet make sure you eat fresh fruit and vegetables (especially the dark green ones), lean meats, low fat dairy, and whole grains whole. They are not only good for you, but they help curb your appetite. Try to exercise at least 45-60 minutes a day, and as long as your consistently active during that time, its okay to mix it up between running/walking/swimming/or other sports, however cardio is the best in losing weight. To lose 20 lbs, it would probably take about 10 weeks, seeing how it is safe to lose around 2 pounds a week. Hope this helps!

A person that does not typically run and weighs over 200 pounds may develop foot, back, hip, or knee problems if you run daily. Try riding an eliptical machine in between days that you run. This will work your upper body and will take some of the stress off your legs. aim for a goal of burning atleast 150 calories per session.
As for eating healthy, one of the easiest ways to cut calories is change all liquids you drink to water. This may cut up to 1000 calories depending on the amount of juices, or sodas a person consumes. After you get that down, switch any snack foods to granola, apples, trail mix or low fat and low sugar cereals. Eating more frequent smaller and healthier meals keeps your stomach churning and your metabolism on fire to burn more calories and fats as well. (ideally six small meals a day, according to all the health magazines)
