I was looking around for new ideas to help visitors to my Quick Weight Loss Diet website when I came across information about the Lemonade Diet. It certainly sounds interesting, so I started to do some research. Here’s what I found.

The Lemonade Diet is also known as the Master Cleanse Diet. It’s been around since 1941 (strange that I’ve not heard of this before) and was created by alternative medicine performer Stanley Burroughs.

The diet consists of mixing 4 ingredients: 64 ounces of water, 12 Tbs. of Grade B Maple Syrup, 12 Tbs. of fresh lemon juice, and 1 Tsp. of Cayenne Pepper. Mix thoroughly.

1. Eat More Frequently – You’re probably thinking, “What?” Yes, eat more frequently so your body never feels hungry. Being hungry usually results in binge eating and that’s a no-no.

Many experts now believe that it’s best to eat six times per day. For example, a small breakfast at 7:00AM, a snack at 10:00AM, a light lunch at 12:00PM, a snack at 3:00PM, dinner at 6:00PM, and one last snack at 8:00PM.

Don’t let your tummy get hungry.

2. Eat Smaller Portions on Smaller Plates – Reducing the size of the plate that your eating out of will remind you to eat smaller portions. Eat one plate of food – no more!

3. 2 Glasses of Cold Water Before You Eat – The water will of course take up room in your tummy so that you’ll eat less. And, the fact that the water was cold will encourage your body to burn more calories to warm that water up to your normal body temperature. This is a key in any quick weight loss diet.

4. Chew Slowly – Slow down how fast you’re eating and you’ll eat less food. It takes your stomach about 10 minutes to tell your brain that it’s no longer hungry. So, slowly chew your food.

5. Cook With Non-Stick Pans – Save at least 100 calories every time you cook with a non-stick pan. Adding butter, margarine, or oil to a pan so that the food won’t stick to it is a quick weight loss diet nightmare.

6. Eat Oily Fish – Such as salmon, herrings, mackerel, and sardines. These fish have fatty acids that’ll help your body burn fat more efficiently.

7. Don’t Deny Yourself Sweets – If you like sweets, don’t deny yourself sweets – once again, denying yourself may lead to a binge. Instead, occasionally treat yourself to a low-cal alternative. 8. Allergy Check – Believe it or not, many doctors now believe that allergies are a cause for many people to be overweight.

“There are specific food allergies that trigger uncontrollable craving and bingeing”, says Joseph D. Beasley, M.D., director of Comprehensive Medical Care in Amityville, New York. “It’s a common problem in over-eaters.”

So, if you’re eating certain foods that you just don’t believe that you could live without them, ask your family doctor to do an allergy check. If this is your problem, you won’t need a quick weight loss diet.

Food marketing experts are so clever and it’s scary. Millions of people are trying to lose pounds and these experts know it. Instead of helping, however, they use their marketing powers to trick people into buying products that are worst for you. Take the following examples:

Ground Turkey

Aren’t you seeing a lot more ads and publicity for ground turkey? Well, you won’t lose pounds by eating more of it. Most ground turkey is made with the fat and skin ground up in it. A 3-oz can of ground turkey has about 14 grams of fat which is triple that of lean ground beef.

Closely inspect the ingredients in the ground turkey that you are thinking about buying. Or, purchase 92 percent lean ground beef.

Sugarless Cookies/Candy

Sugar is removed, but to get the sweet flavor, fat is added. Which is worst, the sugar or the fat? And, in candy, sorbitol is often added which leads to bloating and diarrhea.

Stick with graham crackers which has much less sugar than prepackaged cookies. And for candy, grab a Tootsie Pop – about 60 calories.

Veggie Chips

Your no better off with most veggie chips than you are with their potato counterpart. Both are salty and contain about 155 calories and 10 grams of fat per handful. You won’t lose pounds with most of these.

Examine the ingredients. Make sure they’re made with some type of vegetable and not potato/corn flour.

Trail Mix

Don’t buy prepackaged versions of these. Most have added sugar and fat to enhance the flavors.

Mix your own and limit yourself to 1 cup. Mix with dried fruit, nuts, whole-grain cereal, and pretzels.

Healthy Granola

Is granola healthy for you? Well, not exactly. One cup contains 550 calories and 27 grams of fat – and, that’s without milk.

If you have-to-have-it, don’t eat it at restaurants where you can’t control the size of the portion. Instead, eat it at home and mix a quarter cup of it with a low-cal, whole grain cereal.

So, use some caution with the things you’re eating. Don’t believe everything you read and hear. Closely examine the ingredients if you want to lose pounds.

I recently read an article on Yahoo News about a television reporter who was investigating quick weight loss diet claims. I thought her story was incredible, so I thought I would share her story with you.

The reporter’s name is Julia Miller and she’s with the News 7 team in Los Angeles. She had noted all the advertisements, television reports, and blog postings about Acai Berry and how it was suppose to be the new wonder drug for dieters.

She talked to her producers and they decided to check it out. Julia volunteered to be the guinea pig.

Julia had read that the most successful of these Acai Berry diets also involved using a colon cleanse product as well. While the Acai Berry helped to suppress appetite and add energy, the colon cleanse products helped the digestive tract to increase metabolism and rids the body of toxins.

After Week 1

Increasing metabolism is the key component to any quick weight loss diet. After all, if you are overweight, that means you have more fat in your body than your body needs. 2. Drink Lots Of Water – The first thing you should do in the morning when you wake up is to drink an 8-oz. glass of cold water. After sleeping all night and resting, the water enhances your metabolism and wakes it up. Your body will actually burn more calories if you drink cold water because the body tries to warm that water up. Drink eight 8-oz. glasses of cold water per day.

3. Don’ Skip Breakfast – Eating breakfast wakes up your digestive system and gets your metabolism going again. If you don’t eat breakfast, your body senses starvation and your metabolic rate will slow down.

4. Drink Green Tea – Boost your metabolism by drinking green tea. Green tea contains catechins and caffeine. Drink two cups per day and you’ll burn an extra 50 calories per day. That doesn’t sound like much, but it all adds up on a quick weight loss diet.

5. Eat Plenty Of Proteins – Your body will burn twice as many calories digesting proteins than it will digesting carbohydrates or fats. Proteins are harder to digest. This will boost your metabolism. Today, let’s discuss four important facts about quick weight loss diets. These are important. These four facts are:

1. Low fat foods DON’T WORK

2. Low calorie diets DON’T WORK

3. Low carb diets DON’T WORK

4. Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig dieting plans…and, these are another story

Low fat foods have been the popular diet for the last 20 years. Yet, just yesterday, ABC News reported that new studies show that 28% of American adults are now considered obese! That’s incredible and that news alone should tell you low fat foods are not the dieting answer.

Low calorie diets don’t work, either. In fact, these may be the worst type of diets to go on. Sure, you may initially lose a couple of pounds, but your body’s metabolism will adjust to the lower calorie intake and you’ll reach a dieting plateau. Low calorie diets slow down your body’s fat burning metabolism and ruins all chances of weight loss.

Low Carb Dieting plans have become popular over the last 10 years. But, they are TOO HARD TO FOLLOW. Low carb diets rob your body of carbohydrates (energy) and will make you tired and cranky. It’s nearly impossible to stay on this type of diet very long.

Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig Dieting Plans, as mentioned above, are another story. Yes, they will work, but they are expensive to be on. You have to pay their dieting fees and you have to pay high prices for special meals and/or dietary supplements. And, at best, these diets lead to only 1-1/2 to 3 pounds of weight loss per week. These are not quick weight loss diet plans!
